NNU Career
Tim was a member of the NNU track team in the late 70s, specializing in the 400-meter hurdles. He was one of the first All-Americans for NNU in track & field, earning honors in the 400 hurdles at the NAIA National Meet as a sophomore in 1978. As a freshman in 1977, he ran a time of 52.05 seconds in the 400 hurdles that was still tied for the NNU program record as of November 2021, 44 years later. At the conclusion of his NNU career, Tim was awarded two of NNU’s prestigious end-of-the-year honors - the Wesley O. Young Track & Field Award and the Orrin E. Hills Male Athlete of the Year Award.
Personal & Professional Achievements
After graduating from NNU, Tim focused on his love of competitive water skiing. He built the first man-made tournament water-ski lake in Idaho in 1981 and skied at a national level for over 40 years, including a No. 1 ranking in the West Region in 1989. He opened Gilbert Lake Marine Boat Shop in the early 90s and operated it until 2008. After that, he drove truck until his retirement in January 2019. He has also volunteered at NNU track meets and served in many volunteer roles at Deer Flat Methodist Church for over 30 years.
