The 1994-95 Northwest Nazarene College men's basketball squad had one of the greatest seasons in Northwest Nazarene Athletics history. The Crusaders went 27-7 during the season and 13-3 in Cascade Conference play to take the CC crown, and then went on a run in the national tournament, making it all the way to the NAIA National Championship game before falling in overtime.
NNC finished the season ranked No. 5 in the NAIA final poll and earned the Leo Nicholson Award, presented to the best small college in the northwest. The Crusaders boasted an 18-game home winning streak and 11-game overall winning streak during the season. The 27 wins and .794 winning percentage are both still program records.
Emiko Etete led the team in multiple categories that season, finishing first with 16.4 points per game, a 57.3 field goal percentage, 8.4 rebounds per game, and 86 steals, while also ranking second with 26 blocks. Five Crusaders averaged double figures in points, as joining Etete were Tony Schumacher at 12.7 per game, Chad Herron at 12.5 per game, Trevor Stott at 10.6 per game, and Roy Garcia at 10.3 per game. As a team, NNC outscored opponents by an average of 10 points per game (82.1 to 72.0).Â
