Within NNU Athletics, we are working to create more Transformational Space. Rob Roberts, owner of R&M Steel generously donated the steel for the Nighthawks Training Facility, which will give us 22,000 square feet of more space for our students. As we raise funds to build that facility, it will open up more play space in the Johnson Sports Center fieldhouse for our students.
The quickest way to have defenses torn down, chains broken, and a student start to let their heart soften is to PLAY. To build friendships based on FUN! That’s a big part of why God uses Athletics as a ministry. It is a vehicle where barriers are broken, trust is built, and where coaches and teammates can SPEAK LIFE – REAL LIFE – LIFE BASED ON GOD’s LOVE FOR THEM. But that doesn’t have to be done as a part of a team. It can be a couple of friends coming over to play pickleball, workout, or just goof around in the gym and have FUN. Where they can laugh and run and let the walls they have built up be torn down. And AS those walls come down now their heart can hear HIS voice as HE says: “You are my child, I know you so well and I love you.”
The Nighthawks Training Facility will have a reverberating impact on our mission and because of your partnership with us that effect is expanding. Thank you again for all of the ways you support NNU and our students. We wish God’s richest blessings on you and ask that you continue to uphold NNU in your prayers.

The Nighthawks Training Facility will be a great addition to our campus community and the overall student experience. Having a dedicated space for the baseball, softball, and golf teams will open our current facilities to edify our intramural sport and recreation programs. With the addition of the new facility, and the increase of space for the non-athlete student, this provides a tangible way for NNU to transform the whole student by encouraging them to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
