Corbin Talley Named NCBWA Second Team All American

NAMPA, Idaho - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America has released the All-American Teams for this season. Stand out pitcher Corbin Talley was named to the second team. 

Talley is in his first season with the Nighthawks after transferring in from Northwestern State (La.) and made an immediate impact. Talley pitched 79.0 innings and solidified himself as the ace after leading the GNAC in ERA and was named the GNAC Player of the Year.

Talley's first start came on January 31st against Concordia Irvine where he pitched 5.0 innings. He only gave up one run on seven hits as NNU won 4-2. He continued his dominance into the conference season, pitching complete game shutouts against Montana State Billings, Western Oregon, and Saint Martin's. 

Talley leads the GNAC in strikeouts with 104 and sits at fifth in all of Division II baseball. The senior from Jones, Oklahoma has an 11.85 K/9 that puts him in the top 15 in Division II. He has a perfect 11-0 record as the Nighthawks won their third straight GNAC Tournament Championship and swept their way through the NCAA Regional Round.

Talley and that Nighthawks will travel to San Diego, California for the NCAA Super Regional Round against Point Loma from on May 21st, 22nd, and if necessary, May 23rd.
