WINGATE, N.C. - The NCBWA released their Week Three rankings for Division II baseball on Wednesday, with Northwest Nazarene rising to 10th in the country.
NNU was one of the biggest climbers in the rankings this week, jumping up nine spots after their No. 19 slot in last week's poll. The jump was largely due to an impressive 3-1 series win over then-No. 12 Colorado Mesa on the road over the weekend.
This is Northwest Nazarene's highest position in the NCBWA poll since the final rankings in 2021, when the Nighthawks were ranked sixth following their run to the DII College World Series.
Tampa remains on top of the poll with all of the first-place votes, followed by North Greenville, Central Missouri, west region rival Point Loma, and West Texas A&M to round out the top five. Cal State Monterey Bay is the only other west region member in the poll at 23rd, while Cal State San Bernardino and Chico State are both receiving votes.
The Nighthawks have a big home series coming up this weekend, starting GNAC play with perennial conference title contender Western Oregon with doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.
