PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference has announced Caleb Putney as this week's GNAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Caleb Putney was a force in the offensive third for the Nighthawks as he put away three goals in two matches against No. 10 Seattle Pacific and Jamestown. 

With the Nighthawks in a 2-0 hole, Putney found himself with a set piece on the outside of the box that found it's way through traffic and into the net to the deficit in half. Putney's second goal come off a cross where he hit a side-volley to the near post to even it up at two goals apiece. Rylan McPherson would score the game winning goal later in the half as NNU recorded their second win over a ranked opponent this season.

Putney recorded the second goal of the match and his third of the weekend in the second half against Jamestown where he received a pass just outside the box that he sent into the far post side netting to secure a 2-0 nonconference win. 

Putney has scored six goals this season and assisted two, leading the Nighthawks to a 6-1-3 overall record and 1-0 GNAC record. He currently sits at second in the GNAC in goals scored, just behind Western Oregon's Archie Dhima with 10 goals.

NNU will travel to Western Washington and Simon Fraser on Thursday and Saturday to continue conference play.
