PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference has announced Elijah Brockl as the GNAC Defender of the Week following his performance in Salem, Ore. this past week.

Brockl put together a tremendous two-game stretch against West Texas A&M and St. Mary's (Texas), posting two shutouts and eight total saves with four in each match. Brockl helped lead NNU to a pair of wins as the Nighthawks closed out non-conference play.

"Elijah has been great for us in the last few games and this past week it was rewarding to see him and the group get two clean sheets. We can rely on Elijah to do his job and he goes out of his way to communicate and help his teammates on and off the field."

The redshirt sophomore has put together a tremendous start to his 2026 campaign. Brockl made his season debut in the second game of the year against MSU Denver, recording four saves in a 1-1 draw.

Brockl has tallied 25 saves while allowing just five goals for an 83.3 save percentage this season. The Nighthawks have put together a 4-1-3 record, which includes an upset win over No. 12 Fort Lewis a week ago.

NNU will look to keep that momentum going as the Nighthawks host No. 11 Seattle Pacific in their GNAC opener on Thursday before welcoming Jamestown on Saturday.
