PORTLAND, Ore. - The Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced the Player and Pitcher of the Week from April 27 to May 2.
Tate Lewis was named the Player of the Week while
Dillon Eden earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
Dillon Eden had a dominant performance in the first game of the series against Central Washington. The Nighthawks took a 7-2 decision in what would be the closest game of the series. Eden pitched a complete nine inning game, only giving up three hits and two runs, only one earned. Eden struck out five batters and didn't give up any walks with only one extra-base hit.Â
Eden improves his season record to 6-1 and recorded his first complete game of the season. That sixth wins is the tied for second in the GNAC, just behind fellow Nighthawk
Corbin Talley. He dropped his season ERA to 4.26, ranking third in the GNAC with an opposing batting average of .279 which ranks sixth.Â
Tate Lewis was named the Player of the Week after hitting four home runs in two games with a .652 batting average. Lewis tallied nine RBIs, six in the final game of the series where he also hit three homers en route to a 21-5 win. Lewis is now tied for the most home runs on the team with six.
NNU will look forward to the GNAC Tournament being hosted in Nampa, Idaho on May 7 and 8. They will open the tournament against Western Oregon at 4 p.m. on Thursday and will follow with a 7 p.m. start against Montana State Billings.Â
