Karpstein, Walsh, and Brubaker Named CSC Academic All-District

NAMPA, Idaho - College Sports Communicators (CSC) has released the Academic All-District teams for baseball. Kaleb Karpstein, Carter Walsh, and Gavin Brubaker earned Academic All-District honors with Kartpstein and Walsh being selected as Academic All-America Finalists.

Kaleb Karpstein was an All-GNAC first team selection at first base while he hit .335 on the season, playing in 57 games and starting in 56. Karpstein recorded 68 hits with seven home runs and 47 RBIs while being one of the top defensive players in the GNAC with a .998 fielding percentage and 399 putouts.

Carter Walsh was named the GNAC player of the year after hitting .351 and playing in all 59 games and starting 58 of them for the Nighthawks. A standout in center field, Walsh recoreed 86 hits with eight home runs and stole 36 bases on 40 attempts. 

Gavin Brubaker after an All-GNAC Honorable Mention Selection and a .360 batting average which was second on the team. Brubaker was a two-way player, playing most innings at shortstop but 13 appearances with one start on the mound. Bubaker had a 6.98 ERA and a 1-3 record with two saves including a hitless inning to secure the a win over Cal State Monterey Bay in the NCAA Regional Round. 

To earn this recognition for the fall sports, student-athletes be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic eligibility, must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above in their careers, as well as either play in 90% of their team's games or start in 66% of the team's contests during the current season. The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
