Corbin Talley Signs Professional Contract with Modesto Roadsters

| By:
MODESTO, Calif. - The 2026 GNAC and West Region Pitcher of the Year Corbin Talley has signed a professional contract with the Modesto Roadsters.
"Corbin got an opportunity here to really showcase who he can be.  He made the most of his time at NNU and was one of our most consistent starters we have ever had.  I loved working with Corbin.  I think we both learned from each other and made each other better at what we do.  I'm happy to see him getting a shot to keep playing and know he will continue to pitch well."
- Matt Hollod, NNU Associate Head Baseball Coach

The lefty made his debut on June 3rd and made an immediate impact. Talley pitched 6.1 innings giving up five hits and one run with eight strikeouts without a single walk as the Roadsters took a 4-2 win over the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds. He followed up that performance with an appearance a few days later out of the bullpen but did not record an out.

The Modesto Roadsters are located in Modesto, California, and are in their inaugural season after being announced in November 2025. The club competes in the Pioneer League, an independent professional baseball league and MLB Partner League. They currently sit at 11-7 overall and in sixth place. They look to face the Long Beach Coast for a four game series starting today at 6:35 p.m. PDT.

"Being able to start my professional career with the Modesto Roadsters has showed me that all the hard work and dedication to the game can treat you right if you play the game right and I am grateful for the opportunity to play here in Modesto."
- Corbin Talley

Talley completed his career at NNU after transferring in from Northwestern State (La.). He was named the GNAC and West Region Pitcher of the Year as well as first team All-GNAC, first team All West Region, and NCBWA and D2CCA second team All-American.

Talley closed out the 2026 season with 3.16 ERA with an 11-0 record, three shutouts, and four complete games for the Nighthawks. He proved to be the top pitcher in the NCAA West Region with 85.1 innings pitched, a .245 opponent batting average, and 106 strike outs. The Nighthawks finished the season with a 41-18 overall and 25-7 in GNAC play, securing their third straight GNAC Tournament Championship. NNU earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Regional Round where they defeated Cal State San Marcos and defeated Cal State Monterey Bay with a comeback in the ninth and then a 17-run explosion to advance to the NCAA Super Regional Round where they would fall to Point Loma in San Diego, California,

"My time at NNU was spent creating bonds and friendships with my teammates and helped me grow as a ball player but also as a person outside of the  field. NNU helped me grow in a positive manner with my relationship with the Lord and helped me become who I am today. I am very grateful and blessed to have spent the time I did at NNU."
