PORTLAND, Ore. -
Liam Herrera was named the GNAC Player of the Week after being a near impossible out against Central Washington this past weekend.
The junior earned the GNAC honor after hitting .786 (11-for-14) over four games, scoring six runs, and driving in five. Of his 11 hits, three were doubles.
"Liam had an excellent weekend. He had big hits in every game for us and drove in some pivotal runs. He has been getting better every week and is turning into one of the better hitters in the league."
- Joe Schafer, Head Baseball Coach
This is Herrera's first GNAC Player of the Week Honor. He now leads the GNAC in on-base percentage (.515) and is hitting .388.
NNU went 2-2 on the weekend and will travel to Monmouth, Oregon, to face Western Oregon for the second time this season. The Nighthawks swept the Wolves to start GNAC play in Nampa back in February.
