CARY, N.C. - After claiming their second NCAA Division II Baseball West Region title on Friday, Northwest Nazarene baseball is now headed back to North Carolina for the DII College World Series.
The eight-team, double-elimination tournament will take place at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. from May 30-June 7. With the seeding and schedule now complete, NNU has received the five-seed and is set to open against four-seed UT Tyler on Saturday, May 31 at 1:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. MT. Regardless of the outcome, the Nighthawks will then play again on Monday, June 2 with game time to be determined based on a win or a loss in the opener.
For those who are making the trip to Cary, tickets for the championships can be purchased

NCAA's streaming page here.Â
NNU, the West Region top seed, earned their spot in the DII College World Series after advancing through both the regional and super regional rounds, taking care of five-seed Montana State Billings and four-seed Point Loma in the regional pod before sweeping three-seed Cal State Monterey Bay in the super regional series.
Paired with the 2021 NNU squad that went to Cary, the Nighthawks are still the only GNAC program to ever win a regional baseball title and advance to the national finals. They are also the only program at NNU to win a regional championship in any sport.
The teams advancing to Cary are:
1-seed Tampa (South Region)
2-seed Central Misouri (Central Region)
3-seed Lenoir-Rhyne (Southeast Region)
4-seed UT Tyler (South Central Region)
5-seed Northwest Nazarene (West Region)
6-seed East Stroudsburg (Atlantic Region)
7-seed Northwood (Midwest Region)
8-seed Felician (East Region)
A full preview of the regional will be posted on
NNUsports.com later this week.
