WINGATE, N.C. - Fresh off a dominant four-game sweep of Central Washington last weekend, Northwest Nazarene baseball is back in the National College Baseball Writers of America Division II Top 25 for the first time in the 2025 season.
The Nighthawks enter the poll at 24th in the nation. NNU has been knocking on the door of the top 25 all season, receiving votes in the poll in all but one week so far this year. The last time NNU appeared in the NCBWA top 25 was near the end of last season, slotting in 23rd in the May 15, 2024 rankings.Â
NNU was also ranked in the D2Baseball Top 25 earlier this season, checking in at No. 25 in the preseason and No. 23 in the Feb. 3 rankings.Â
NNU is one of three West Region squads in this week's NCBWA top 25, joining Westmont at No. 4 and Point Loma at No. 13. Cal State San Bernardino is also receiving votes in the poll.Â
The Nighthawks are currently 20-10 overall and 9-3 in GNAC play. NNU is one of just nine Division II baseball programs to have won at least 20 games so far this season.Â
NNU will take their new ranking on the road this week, visiting Saint Martin's for a four-game series from March 21-22 in Lacey, Washington.
