PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the weekly award winners for March 10-16 on Monday afternoon, with Northwest Nazarene track & field's
Luke Johansson earning the Men's Track Athlete of the Week honor.
Johansson had a strong showing on his home track last week, winning the 110-meter hurdles and setting a new program record at the NNU Nighthawk Opener. In his outdoor debut, the sophomore posted a PR time of 14.83 seconds, three-hundredths faster than NNU's previous top mark in school history, to top a field of eight competitors. It stands as the third-fastest 110-meter hurdles time among GNAC competitors thus far in the early 2025 outdoor season.
Johansson and the Nighthawks will now look to showcase their talents at the Oregon Preview this weekend, held March 21-22 in Eugene.
