Nighthawks Sweep Yellowjackets in Dominant Home Performance

NAMPA, Idaho – The Nighthawks competed on Thursday the 30th in an exciting three set match against the Montana State Billings' Yellowjackets. Coming out with energy the Nighthawks found the offensive fire they needed to shut the Yellowjackets 3-0 with set scores of: 25-14, 25-13, and 25-17.

Coming out strong in set one, the Nighthawks wasted no time getting their offense rolling as Abby Black opened with a kill to set the tone. That energy carried throughout the set as NNU built a comfortable lead. A kill by Maddy Hellem sealed the deal, giving the Nighthawks a 25-14 win. NNU tallied 11 kills in the set compared to the Yellowjackets' 9.

The second set continued to showcase the Nighthawks' momentum as they jumped out to a commanding 13-3 lead, fueled by consistent offense and sharp serving from Black. Despite a late
push from the Yellowjackets, NNU maintained control and took the set 25-13.

Montana State Billings found their rhythm in the third set, keeping things close as the teams traded points. A clutch kill from Black gave NNU a slight edge at 17-15. From there, the
Nighthawks offense, powered by Black and Madi Smith, pushed through to finish the sweep. NNU closed out the match with a decisive 25-17 victory.

Abby Black led the way offensively with 15 kills, while Morgan Wilding distributed 37 assists. On defense, Kayci Spray anchored the back row with 24 digs to round out an impressive team performance.
