NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer went back-and-forth with Central Washington on Saturday, resulting in a 2-2 draw with the Wildcats.
NNU moves to 2-4-2 in GNAC play and 3-7-2 overall.
CWU scored first in the 34
th minute. NNU answered to tie it just before halftime, as
Alexis Cromwell sent in a corner kick that was delivered to the back of the net by
Savanna Herz with just 17 seconds before the buzzer.
The Wildcats would take the lead again in the 54
th minute, scoring on a penalty kick.
In the 78
th minute, NNU earned a free kick from about 25 yards out in the middle of the field.
Attie Jo Westbrook stepped up to take it, and drilled it into the top left corner of the net for the equalizer.
Neither team managed another shot over the final 12 minutes, settling for the 2-2 draw.
NNU held a 9-6 advantage in total shots and an 8-3 advantage in shots on target.
The Nighthawks now head to Montana State Billings on Thursday, Oct. 23 and Seattle Pacific on Saturday, Oct. 25.
