PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the weekly award winners for April 29-May 5 on Monday, with Northwest Nazarene's
Kyle Ethridge and
Adam Paganelli sweeping the baseball honors.
Paganelli slugged his way to his first Player of the Week award, hitting three home runs and driving in eight to help the Nighthawks clinch the regular-season championship with a 3-1 series win over Central Washington. Paganelli had four RBIs in the first and third games of the series, including a two-homer game in NNU's 8-1 victory on Saturday.
Ethridge earned Pitcher of the Week honors after helping the Nighthawks secure the 2024 regular-season title with his effort in the team's 13-1 triumph over Central Washington last week. The senior left-hander allowed just three baserunners across seven innings of work, struck out four, walked none, and surrendered just one run. Ethridge displayed ultimate efficiency, needing just 68 pitches to get through the seven frames and secure his fifth win of the year.
The duo will now look to help lead the Nighthawks at the GNAC Championships, starting this Thursday, May 9 in Billings.Â
