WINGATE, N.C. - The NCBWA released their latest rankings for Division II baseball on Wednesday morning, with Northwest Nazarene back up to 12th in the country.
NNU has been as high as 10th in the nation this year but had fallen two spots in each of the previous two polls. With their two-slot rise this week, the Nighthawks are headed back in the right direction following their four-game sweep at Montana State Billings over the weekend to improve to 16-4-1 on the year.Â
Tampa remains atop the poll for the fifth-straight week, followed by Central Missouri, North Greenville, West Texas A&M, and west region rival Point Loma rounds out the top five. Cal State Monterey Bay checks in at 19th this week, while Westmont and San Francisco State also represent the west region in the receiving votes category.
The Nighthawks will look to continue their strong 6-2 start to GNAC play when they return home this weekend to face Saint Martin's for four games. First pitch of Friday's doubleheader is set for 3:00 p.m. at Vail Field, followed by another doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
