Leavitt Named Academic All-District for Baseball

| By:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the Academic All-District Teams for baseball on Tuesday, with Northwest Nazarene's Mason Leavitt earning the honor.

This is Leavitt's first selection to the CSC Academic All-District squad, and the programs' first nod since four players earned the recognition in 2021.

Leavitt batted leadoff for the Nighthawks for the majority of the season, setting the tone for the offense with a high batting average and on-base percentage. He earned First Team All-GNAC honors at the utility position, splitting time during the year at both second base and shortstop.

The 2023 Academic All‐District Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be significant contributors to their team athletically while maintaining a cumulative GPA of a 3.50 or above. The CSC Academic All‐America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First, second, and third‐team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced June 7.
