LACEY, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene baseball dropped a game against the No.1 seeded Western Oregon Wolves by a score of 4-1 in the GNAC Championships.
The Nighthawks are now 24-28 overall and 1-1 in the GNAC Championships.
The first signs of life out of the Nighthawks offense didn't show until the third inning when they got two hits off WOU's Dylan Chalmers. Chalmers was named GNAC Co-Pitcher of the Year and held the Nighthawks scoreless through his first five innings of work.
Facing a 3-0 deficit in the top of the sixth inning,
Manny Casillas hit an RBI single to center field that scored
Duke Pahukoa for NNU's only run of the game. The Wolves answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the sixth inning to regain a three-run lead.

Brock Moffitt threw 5.1 innings, allowing four runs on five hits while picking up five strikeouts.
Nick Irwin relieved Moffitt and threw 2.2 innings. Irwin did not allow a run and collected four strikeouts in his appearance.

The Nighthawks look to bounce back tomorrow as they take on the Western Oregon Wolves at noon pacific time. To win the GNAC Championships, Northwest Nazarene needs to beat Western Oregon twice tomorrow.
