NNU Bounces Back with Sweep of Montana State Billings

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene volleyball bounced back from a rare loss on Thursday with a dominating sweep of Montana State Billings on Saturday in the Johnson Sports Center.

How It Happened

The Nighthawks came out firing from the start, jumping out to an 8-1 lead that was capped by Olivia Wright kills on two of the final three points of the stretch. The momentum did not shift the rest of the set, as NNU scored the final four points with a Tayler Markland kill punctuating a 25-11 victory.

Set two was much of the same, with NNU scoring the first five points and taking leads of 11-4 and 17-7. The Nighthawks cruised once again, with a Helen Sullivan ace capping another 25-11 win.

The Yellowjackets put up a decent fight in the third set, taking their first lead of any set early at 7-4. MSUB still led 19-15 late, but NNU responded with a 10-3 run to put away the match. After a MSUB service error, Natalie Sullivan recorded three aces in a row to begin the run and Wright finished it with another kill.
