PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the members of the 2022 Baseball All-Conference Team on Wednesday, with 10 Nighthawks from Northwest Nazarene baseball earning the honor.

Blake McFadden, Max Holtzclaw, Haden Keller, and Duke Pahukoa all received First Team recognition. Parker Price, Grant Kerry, and Tyler Best were named to the Second Team, while Brock Moffitt, Kyle Payne, and Alex Salsman earned Honorable Mention accolades.

NNU's 10 honors led the conference, with Western Oregon and Montana State Billings each picking up eight, Central Washington with seven, and Saint Martin's with four.

Holtzclaw receives First Team honors for the second year in a row, leading the GNAC and ranking ninth in the nation with 11 saves. Among pitchers with 10 or more innings on the mound, he also leads the conference with a 2.05 ERA and has compiled 53 strikeouts and just eight walks in 30.2 innings of work.

He is joined in the bullpen by Blake McFadden, who earns the First Team nod after a Second Team selection a season ago. McFadden is just behind Holtzclaw with a 2.09 ERA, holds a 5-1 record with four saves, and has struck out 51 batters and walked just 12 in 38.2 innings.

Keller has been the best two-way player in the conference by a wide margin, earning First Team honors at the utility spot after receiving an Honorable Mention nod last year. At the plate, Keller is ninth in the GNAC with a .311 batting average and ninth with a .405 on-base percentage. On the mound, he is second among qualifying pitchers with a 3.40 ERA, first with a .210 opposing batting average, fourth with 63 strikeouts, and tied for the league lead with seven wins.

Pahukoa earns First Team honors in his first year with the Nighthawks after transferring from UNLV. The third baseman is 12th in the GNAC with a .306 batting average, third with a .556 slugging percentage, 10th with 12 doubles, and tied for 5th with eight home runs.

Price receives Second Team honors for the third time in his Nighthawks career, also receiving the award in 2018 and 2019. The shortstop is seventh in the conference with a .320 batting average, seventh with a .538 slugging percentage, eighth with a .407 on-base percentage, fourth with 41 RBIs, tied for fourth with 14 doubles, and tied for ninth with seven home runs.

Kerry is an All-GNAC honoree for the second-straight season, given First Team honors last year before his Second Team nod this year. Primarily playing at first base, Kerry enters the championships weekend tied for second in the conference with nine home runs, third with 11 stolen bases, and 10th with a .509 slugging percentage.

Best was named to the Second Team in his first campaign with NNU after transferring from the University of Hawaii. The outfielder ranks 13th in the GNAC in doubles with 11 and tied for 13th in runs scored with 30. He is hitting .277 with two home runs, 20 RBIs, and 19 walks.

Moffitt, Salsman, and Payne all earn Honorable Mention honors for the first time in their careers. Moffitt transferred in from UC Davis this year and inserted himself into the starting rotation, holding a 3.59 ERA in 47.2 innings while recording 59 strikeouts and just eight walks. Platooning in a few different positions for the Nighthawks, Salsman is hitting .324 in 68 at-bats with 22 hits, five doubles, five home runs, and 19 RBIs. Starting most of the year at second base, Payne is batting .261 with five doubles, two homers, and 21 RBIs.

After wrapping up a share of the 2022 GNAC Regular-Season title last weekend, the Nighthawks will now set their sights on their second-straight GNAC Tournament championship, heading to Monmouth for the two-day event on May 12 and 13.
