Northwest Nazarene senior middle blocker
Olivia Wright has been named to the AVCA All-West Region Honorable Mention Team as announced by the coaches' association on Wednesday.
Wright is the 10th player in NNU's DII history to earn All-Region honors, and first since Brooke Foster in 2019.
Among all players in the West Region, Wright finished the year seventh in blocks per set, ninth in hitting percentage, 10th in kills per set, and seventh in points per set.
In her first and only season with the Nighthawks, Wright was also named First Team All-GNAC and the GNAC Newcomer of the Year. She finished second in the conference with 4.04 points per set and third with 3.42 kills per set.
The middle hitter had double-digit kills in all but five of her 25 matches, led by an NNU rally-scoring record 32-kill performance against Texas A&M-International on Aug. 26. She was also sixth in the GNAC with 1.12 blocks per set and eighth with a .344 hitting percentage.Â
