PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the 2025 Volleyball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon, with Northwest Nazarene's
Abby Black and
Hailey Cheney earning recognition.
Black was one of 14 GNAC athletes named to the First Team, while Cheney picked up Honorable Mention honors.
Black earns the second All-GNAC accolade of her career, also named to the Honorable Mention squad last year in 2024. The redshirt junior led the Nighthawks in kills per set at 3.28 and points per set at 3.81, and was also second with 3.19 digs per set, third with 50 blocks, and fourth with 21 aces. In GNAC rankings, the outside hitter was seventh in kills per set and sixth in points per set, while also finishing in the top 20 in digs per set.Â
The Wenatchee, Washington native hit double-digit kills in 16 of 25 matches, including a three-game stretch in early November when she recorded over 20 in each contest (21, 23, 23). She had 12 double-doubles in kills and digs, also notching 10 or more digs in each of NNU's last seven matches.Â
Cheney earns the first All-GNAC honor of her career at the middle hitter position. She led the team in every blocking category with 18 solos and 73 assisted for a total of 91 and average of 1.00 per set. She was also second on the team with a .245 hitting percentage, second with 2.88 points per set, third with 2.00 kills per set, and third with 26 aces. The Kellogg, Idaho native was eighth in the GNAC in blocks and 12th in hitting percentage.Â
