The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) and the United Soccer Coaches association have announced the All-Region teams from each organization for men's soccer, with four Northwest Nazarene athletes earning West Region honors.
Lorenzo Valentini led the way for the Nighthawks with a First Team recognition from both organizations.
Jake Levine,
Ethan Atterberry, and
Lukas Juodkunaitis all received Second Team honors from the D2CCA, while Levine and Atterberry each also earned Second Team honors from the United Soccer Coaches.
The four honors from the D2CCA are the second-most in a season from one organization for an NNU men's soccer team, trailing the five from the United Soccer Coaches in 2014.
Valentini earns the second All-Region nods of his career, also earning Third Team recognition from the United Soccer Coaches last year. The senior defender is also a three-time First Team All-GNAC member and was the 2019 GNAC Newcomer of the Year. This season, he led the defense that compiled seven shutouts and a 1.19 goals against average while also recording a goal and an assist on the offensive end.
Levine earns his first All-Region honors in his final season, leading the Nighthawks' offensive attack with nine goals and 21 points. He is tied for fifth in the region in both goals and points. He is also No. 1 in the region in shot accuracy with 64.4% of his attempts going on target. The prolific scorer also enters the weekend tied for seventh among all active Division II men's soccer players with 78 career points and tied for ninth with 31 career goals.
Atterberry receives the All-Region nods after also earning First Team All-GNAC honors. The sophomore has been a key piece of NNU's midfield all year, controlling possession and igniting scoring chances in every game. He has contributed two goals and four assists, including the game-winner in the 2-1 victory over Cal State East Bay and the game-winning assist against Cal State LA in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament.
Juodkunaitis earns All-Region honors following his second-straight All-GNAC selection. He is second on the team with 18 points and seven goals to go along with four assists. The points mark is also tied for ninth in the region and goals total is tied for eighth. He is also tied for third in the region with four game-winning goals this year, including in the upset of Cal State LA last Saturday when he scored both of the Nighthawks' tallies in the 2-1 win.
