Nighthawks Sweep Saints, Finish 3-1 Homestand

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene volleyball made it two wins this week with a sweep of Saint Martin's on Saturday by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-14.

NNU improves to 7-4 in GNAC play and 14-5 overall on the season.

How It Happened

The Nighthawks and Saints battled back and forth throughout the opening set, drawing even multiple times including at 20, 21, 22, and 23. With the score tied at 23 though, NNU put down back-to-back kills from Olivia Wright and Anna Gable to take the set.

Saint Martin's came out strong in set two, going up 16-10 midway through the frame. NNU bounced back with four straight points to cut the deficit to two, and then after two Saint points, the Nighthawks notched six in a row to take a 20-18 lead. NNU would use that momentum to eventually take the final four points of the set, capped by a Mckenzie Lee ace.

The momentum carried over into set three, with NNU taking an early 8-3 lead. SMU didn't have a counter to the Nighthawks attack, as NNU rolled from there to take the set 25-14 and win the match.
