Team Preview
The Nighthawks have established a dynasty in the GNAC, claiming their fourth-straight GNAC Regular Season Championship and fifth in the last six full seasons. This year, the Nighthawks have tied the program record for wins with 39 (set last season) and have been ranked in the NFCA Top 25 all season, rising as high as No. 13 in the poll on May 1. As a team, NNU is sixth in all of Division II with a minuscule 1.55 ERA, seventh with 16 shutouts, and 11th with a 1.05 WHIP. The dominance in the circle is led by GNAC Pitcher of the Year Sidney Booth, who sports a 1.25 ERA (19th nationally) and 11 shutouts (third in the nation). Fellow starter Gina Skinner has been nearly as effective, compiling a 1.63 ERA. Both were named First Team All-GNAC along with second baseman Emma Mulligan (.325 BA, 13 2B, 5 HR, 27 RBI, 19 SB). Second Team All-GNAC honors went to first baseman Emma Bumatay (.292 BA, 8 HR, 34 RBI), shortstop Clarissa Moreno (.322 BA, 12 2B, 5 HR, 24 RBI), and third baseman Abigail Gagnon (.333 BA, 4 HR, 22 RBI). A participant in their fourth-straight NCAA Regional this year, the Nighthawks will be looking to advance to Super Regional for the first time in program history.
