NNU Softball Season Comes to a Close

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene softball fell to Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-1 in the NCAA West Regional on Saturday to complete their season.
 
The Nighthawks finished the season 41-12.
 
CSUDH opened the game with two runs in the top of the first inning. The first one came on a home run and the second on an RBI single. NNU responded with one run of their own. After Emma Mulligan and Clarissa Moreno each singled to open the game, Abigail Gagnon brought Moreno in to score with an RBI single down the right field line.
 
After CSUDH added another run in the top of the fifth, NNU threatened with bases loaded and one out in the bottom half of the inning but was unable to bring a run around to score. Mulligan doubled in the bottom of the seventh, but ultimately NNU fell 3-1.
 
Mulligan went 3-4 in the game with two doubles.
 
The Nighthawks finished their season setting a program record of 41 wins. This is the fourth consecutive year that NNU has won the GNAC regular season title and made a regional tournament.
