NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazrene Men's Basketball Coach Jon Hawkins and Director of Athletics Paul Rush has announced that Quentin Williams will join the NNU staff as an assistant coach.

"We are thrilled to welcome Quentin and his family to Nighthawks Basketball. Through the interview process, what continually stood out was his heart for developing young men and his commitment to using the game of basketball as a vehicle to impact lives for Christ. It was clear that Quentin sees coaching as much more than wins and losses - he views it as an opportunity to disciple mentor and invest in the next generation." said NNU Head Coach Jon Hawkins.

Williams was a very successful high school coach at Fairfield Local High School in Ohio. He put together an 83-18 overall record and won three SHAC championships, two district championships, and had multiple regional tournament appearances. Williams led the Lions to an undefeated regular season in the 2022-23 season.

Fairfield became one of the top small-school programs in the entire state of Ohio while also achieving many program firsts under Williams. He was his first 39 self-regulation games as a head coach and was named the SHAC Coach of the Year and was a three-time District 14 Coach of the Year.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Williams was a varsity assistant coach for four season. During that time, the program won an SHAC league championship and advanced ro four district championship games. Additionally, he worked extensively with Midwest Basketball Club and All Ohio. He also founded Made Di11erent Basketball, a faith-based player development and mentorship program dedicated to helping athletes maximize their potential on the court while growing as leaders, teammates, and followers of Christ

Jon Hawkins says, "His passion for people, love for the game, and unwavering faith in God align perfectly with the mission and values of our program and institution. I am excited to see how God will use Quentin to influence our student-athletes, strengthen our culture, and make a lasting impact on our campus and throughout the Nampa community. We believe he will be a tremendous addition to our basketball family."

As a player, Williams was a two-time All-Ohio selection in high school where he ended his career top five in scoring, top three in assists, and first in steals at Fairfield Local High School. He continued to play at the next level for Ohio University Chillicothe (NAIA) where he was named to the ORCC All-Conference team twice while scoring 950 points in three seasons and leading the team in assists all three years.

Williams will join the Nighthawks after finishing the 2025-26 season with an 18-11 overall record and 12-6 in the GNAC. NNU finished in third in the regular season before falling to University of Alaksa Fairbanks in the GNAC Tournament but still qualified for their third West Regional in four years.
