Nighthawks Split Weekend at Pacific Northwest STUNT Opener

| By:
The Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks traveled to Oregon this weekend to compete in the Pacific Northwest STUNT Opener hosted by George Fox University, finishing the tournament with two strong wins.

NNU opened the weekend with a hard-fought victory over St. Mary's. The Nighthawks came out strong in the first half, setting the tone early with the help of Stunter of the Game Emma Braga. St. Mary's began to close the gap in the third quarter, but NNU held its ground and maintained the lead to secure a 24–21 win.

The Nighthawks carried that momentum into their second matchup against Texas Woman's University. The teams battled through a tight first quarter that ended in a tie, but TWU eventually pulled ahead in the later quarters to claim the victory.
On day two of the tournament, NNU faced Hope International University. The Nighthawks were able to put points on the board throughout the contest, but the Royals ultimately came away with the win.

NNU closed the weekend on a high note against host George Fox University, the top-ranked Division III team. The Nighthawks jumped out to an early 4–1 lead in the first quarter behind Stunter of the Game Karley Weaver. NNU continued to build momentum in the second half, highlighted by Tumbler of the Game Emma Braga, who recorded an impressive 96% stick rate. The Nighthawks maintained control to earn a 17–12 victory.

After a successful weekend of competition, NNU will look ahead to their next event as they travel to Fresno, California on April 1 for the PacWest Tournament hosted by Fresno Pacific University.
