NNU STUNT Opens 2026 Season at HIU Royal Rumble

| By:
NNU STUNT opened the 2026 season this past weekend at the HIU Royal Rumble, showcasing strong energy and growth throughout the tournament. The Nighthawks started the weekend with a dominant performance against GCU, earning an 11–4 victory. Libby Hiatt was named Highest Rated Player with 22 points, while Karley Weaver earned Stunter of the Game honors and Payton Swope was recognized as Tumbler of the Game.

NNU carried that momentum into its next matchup against TNU. While the Trojans maintained control early, the Nighthawks made their mark in the third quarter during Jumps and Tumbling, scoring in every round behind a standout performance from Tumbler of the Game, Kylee Sherwood. Despite the strong push, TNU secured the win with a final score of 30–12.

Day two of the Royal Rumble saw NNU facing long-standing PacWest opponents, including CUI and Vanguard. Though both teams held the lead, the Nighthawks continued to battle, putting points on the board once again in the third quarter during Jumps and Tumbling. NNU's resilience and competitive drive were on full display as they scored against top-ranked NCAA Division II and PacWest programs.

The Nighthawks will look to build on this strong opening weekend when they return to competition at the Jessup Tournament in Rocklin, California, on March 5th.
