NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer held tough with No. 22 Simon Fraser in front of the home crowd on Saturday, but fell 2-1 to the Red Leafs.
Simon Fraser tallied both of their goals in the first half, coming in the 11
th and 40
th minutes. The Nighthawks' defense buckled down after that, not allowing another score in the final 50 minutes.
NNU cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 56
th, when
Abbey Blancett found
Kaslee Roskelley for the first goal of Roskelley's career.
SFU would hold off the comeback attempt, though, taking the 2-1 victory.
Alex Barrass collected eight saves in goal for NNU.
The Nighthawks will hit the road next week, visiting Saint Martin's on Thursday and Western Oregon on Saturday.
