GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Northwest Nazarene women's soccer earned its first victory of the 2025 campaign on Saturday night with a 2-0 triumph over Western Colorado.
The Nighthawks improve to 1-2 on the year with the neutral-site victory.
NNU wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, with
Savanna Herz scoring in just the fifth minute. In the 12
th, the Nighthawks went up 2-0 on a goal from
Ellie Ritter.
Attie Jo Westbrook had the assists on both tallies.
The Nighthawks were on the attack for all of the first half, outshooting the Mountaineers 11-4 as they went into the break up 2-0.
Neither team was able to score in the second period, with NNU holding on for the victory.
Alex Barrass went the distance in goal for the shutout, collecting seven saves. Herz led the team with four shots.
The Nighthawks remain on the road for one more week next week, playing a single game this time with a visit to Concordia University Irvine on Thursday, Sept. 18 at noon Pacific.
