NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer was able to battle back for a 1-1 draw against local rival College of Idaho in their home opener on Tuesday night.
The game was an exhibition for both teams, so stats and result will not count towards season totals.Â
The Yotes struck early, getting a goal from Abbi Roubidoux in the 15th minute after a wild scramble in the box. The Nighthawks tied it up just before halftime, though, as
Abbey Blancett found
Kailea Takahashi off a corner for the equalizer.Â
College of Idaho had a few good chances to take the lead in the second half, but NNU's defense held firm for the draw.
Alex Barrass collected seven saves in goal for the Nighthawks, while
Ellie Ritter and
Kaslee Roskelley tallied two shots apiece.
NNU is now set to open the regular season next Thursday, visiting Westminster in Salt Lake City for a 7:00 p.m. match.
