PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC released the results of the 2025 Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll on Monday, with Northwest Nazarene picked eighth out of the 10 teams.
NNU earned 31 points in the poll, ahead of both Montana State Billings and Saint Martin's. Western Washington is the unanimous favorite to repeat as the GNAC Champions.
NNU also placed eighth at the 2024 GNAC Championships, led by
Morgan Erler's 18th-place effort. Erler is back to lead the 2025 squad as a senior, with the four other counting runners from last season's championships back as well as she is joined by fellow senior
Keelin Stewart and juniors
McKenna Lechner,
Rebecca Darwood, and
Paige Trautman.Â
The Nighthawks open their 2025 campaign at the College of Southern Idaho Invitational on Sept. 5. After that, NNU will host their first home meet since the 2014 season when they hold the NNU Invitational at West Park on Friday, Sept. 19. The GNAC Championships are set to be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at MSUB's Amend Park.
