| By:
NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene women's cross country enjoyed the first home meet since the 2013 season on Friday morning, taking second as a team with Morgan Erler winning the individual title.

The Nighthawks missed out on the team crown by a very narrow margin, scoring 48 points while the College of Idaho tallied 46 for the win. The top three were extremely close, as College of Southern Idaho was just two behind NNU at 50 points.

Eastern Oregon and Treasure Valley CC rounded out the team scores in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Erler won the 6K race handily, with her time of 22:28.92 nine seconds ahead of the runner-up from Eastern Oregon. This marks Erler's third race win of her career, also winning at Western Oregon last year and Whitman the year before.

Hazel Kunkel placed third overall as NNU's next finisher, registering a time of 22:37.38. Fellow freshman Zoey Stauffer also notched a top-10 finish, with her time of 23:20.94 good enough for tenth overall.

Mckenna Lechner was fourth for the Nighthawks, placing 15th (14 points) with a time of 23:53.39. Keelin Stewart rounded out the scoring five, finishing 24th (20 points) with a time of 24:33.46.
