WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene cross country sent a contingent of Nighthawks to race at the Whitman Open on Saturday.
With NNU's top runners taking the weekend off before the big meet in Illinois next weekend, NNU placed sixth on the men's side and did not register a team score on the women's side with four runners competing.
Jordan Gram had the best finish of the Nighthawks' women, placing 30
th with a time of 24:50.87.
Casey Collom was next, finishing 36
th in 25:17.15, followed by
Jenna Davis in 40
th at 25:22.67.
Alyssa Blum rounded out the women's placings in 55
th.
On the men's side,
Jonah Rau led the way in 35
th with a time of 26:29.53.
Aaron Heberlein finished 42
nd in 26:53.85, followed by
Timothy Bradshaw at 27:05.37.
Grant Petty,
Evan Bennett,
Noah Eichenbusch,
Matthew Ottley,
Finnley Olson,
Emmett Stouffer, and
Zach Tatro also competed for NNU.
As mentioned, next Saturday will be an important one for the Nighthawks as they head to Romeoville, Illinois for the Lewis Crossover Invite, which typically has about a dozen Top-25 teams participating in the races.
