PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC released the results of the 2025 Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with Northwest Nazarene picked seventh out of the 10 teams.
NNU earned 39 points in the poll, two ahead of Seattle Pacific's 37. Central Washington was a near unanimous pick to win the conference, earning 97 points and eight of the 10 first-place votes. Simon Fraser came in second with 84 points and one first-place vote, followed by a tie for third at 79 points between Western Washington (1 first-place vote) and Alaska Fairbanks. Alaska Anchorage rounds out the top five with 58 points.Â
Western Oregon was sixth, just ahead of NNU, while Saint Martin's and Montana State Billings capped the poll in ninth and tenth.
The Nighthawks were also picked seventh a year ago and finished the season in eighth at 6-12 in conference play.
The Nighthawks will play a scrimmage at Treasure Valley CC on Aug. 25 before opening the regular season in California against Cal State San Bernardino on Sept. 4. The home opener will be on Sept. 11 against Colorado Mines, part of a three-day, six-team, 12-game tournament hosted in Nampa from the Sept. 11-13. GNAC play is set to begin on Sept. 18, with NNU opening conference action at home against Western Washington.
