Mulder Set to Take On NCAA Regionals

| By:
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Northwest Nazarene sophomore Benjamin Mulder has earned an individual at-large berth to the 2025 NCAA Championships following his dominant season, and is ready to take on the competition in California.

The 2025 South Central/West Regional is set to be held May 8-10 at the Victoria Club course in Riverside, California. A total of 20 teams (ten from each region) as well as eight individuals (four from each region) will compete at the regional.

The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 19-23 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Pairings for the first round on Thursday have been announced, and Mulder will be starting on hole one at 10:30 a.m. Pacific with Jose Rozas of West Texas A&M and Nick Mouser of Cal State San Marcos. Pairings and start times for the two subsequent rounds will be set after the previous round is complete.

Mulder is just the fourth NNU men's golfer to qualify as an individual for regionals, joining Dale Raybould in 2008, Nick Hardy in 2014, and current assistant coach Grayson Giboney last year in 2024.

According to the Clippd rankings, Mulder is the ninth-ranked men's golfer in the West Region entering the regional. In 11 events this year, the sophomore has registered a 71.2 scoring average across 28 rounds. He is playing a stroke under par for the season, and has claimed seven top ten finishes, five top five finishes, and three event victories, including the recent GNAC Championships in Coeur d'Alene that he won by six strokes.

Fellow GNAC schools Simon Fraser and Western Washington each qualified for regionals as a team, while Mulder was one of the four individuals not on qualified teams selected from the West Region.
