Dickson Earns Prestigious Academic All-America Honor

| By:
AUSTIN, Texas - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have revealed their 2024-25 Academic All-America teams for Division II men's basketball on Tuesday, with Northwest Nazarene's Kye Dickson earning the esteemed honor.

Dickson is one of 15 players from across all of Division II to be named an Academic All-American. With his 3.85 cumulative career GPA in Business Administration, he was recognized on the Second Team.

The Toronto native is NNU's first-ever CSC Academic All-American for men's basketball, and the 10th in GNAC men's basketball history including one of just six named to the First or Second Team. He is also the 15th NNU student-athlete to earn the honor since joining Division II in 2001.

Academic All-American voting considers both academic and athletic accomplishments for its criteria. Dickson's 3.85 GPA was the seventh-highest of the 15 honorees. He also had one of the best individual seasons for any player in NNU men's basketball's Division II history, earning consensus All-West Region honors, GNAC Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-GNAC, and multiple-time GNAC Player of the Week.

He started all 28 games for NNU, led the GNAC with 18.5 points per game, and finished third in the conference with 8.1 rebounds per game. He also led the GNAC with 142 made free throws, breaking NNU's DII program record, and his 518 points this season is third-most since NNU joined Division II.
