PORTLAND, Ore. - The GNAC announced the 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams on Wednesday afternoon, with Northwest Nazarene receiving four All-GNAC nods and two special awards.
Kye Dickson was named First Team All-GNAC and the conference's Newcomer of the Year.
Yaru Harvey, Biggie Bergersen, and
Briggs Ranstrom all received Honorable Mention honors, with Harvey also named the Defensive Player of the Year.
NNU's four honors ties for the most in program history with the 2021-22 squad that also received one First Team and three Honorable Mention picks.
Dickson is one of six athletes on the First Team, joined by Central Washington's Cavin Holden and Garrett Anderson, Montana State Billings' Kael Robinson, Western Washington's Tijan Saine, and Seattle Pacific's Jaxon Nap.
Dickson is just the second NNU player to ever lead the GNAC in scoring, with the other being Adonis Arms in 2018-19. He is also NNU's second Newcomer of the Year along with the aforementioned Arms in 2018-19. He is the first NNU player to be named First Team All-GNAC since James Nelson in 2021-22.
Dickson has scored in double figures in all but one game this season, coming all the way back on Nov. 15 when he had seven points in the win over Northern State. He has scored over 20 points ten times this year, including a 31-point effort in the win over Biola on Dec. 20. Dickson has tallied nine double-doubles this year, tied for the third-most for an NNU player since joining DII, and most since Maurice Jones had 10 double-doubles in 2017-18. He is also third in the GNAC with 8.2 rebounds per game and leads the conference with 135 made free throws.

Harvey is the first NNU men's basketball player to earn the conference's Defensive Player of the Year honor. The senior is third on the team with 10.3 points per game and tied for fourth in the GNAC with 1.7 steals per game.
Bergersen is second on the team in scoring at 10.8 points per game, tied for second in the GNAC with 1.9 steals per game, and tied for 14
th with 2.9 assists per game. He also leads the GNAC with 36.2 minutes played per contest.Â
Ranstrom is fourth on the team with 9.1 points per game, and is tied for 13
th in the GNAC with 5.8 rebounds per game and 11
th with a 51.9 field goal percentage.Â
As the two-seed in this week's GNAC Championships, the Nighthawks will look to win their second GNAC tournament tile in the last three seasons. The Nighthawks have a first-round bye into the semifinals on Friday, March 7, where they will face the winner of six-seed Alaska Fairbanks and three-seed Seattle Pacific at 12:00 p.m. Pacific in Lacey, Washington.
