SPOKANE, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene track & field continued their indoor season at the Inland Northwest Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by a men's 3000m race that saw a new NNU record and the second and third-best times in program history.
Brody Kemble was the record-breaker for the Nighthawks, winning the 3000m with a time of 8:22.11.
Grady Mylander was next at 8:24.22, followed very closely behind by
Ian Stockett at 8:24.38.
Gerohm Rihari also had an impressive showing in the high jump, clearing 2.01 meters for a new PR that is fourth in program history. Freshman
Sam Woolner also made his mark in the top ten lists, running the 60m in 7.10 seconds, good enough for a tie for eighth in NNU history.
On the women's side,
Alejandra Gomez had a great day on the track, climbing up two NNU top ten lists with a 7.90 in the 60m (tied for 5
th) and a 58.76 in the 400m (seventh).
Jordan Eldridge notched NNU's final top ten mark at the meet, hitting 15.68 meters in the weight throw, a mark that is fourth in program history.
The Nighthawks will have one more indoor meet before the GNAC Indoor Championships, traveling to Reno, Nevada on Feb. 7-8 for the Wolf Pack Classic.
