Nighthawks Fall to Falcons in Four

SEATTLE, Wash. – The NNU volleyball team competed in Seattle, Washington on Thursday the 2nd against Seattle Pacific. In a competitive matchup the Falcons were able to pull away with it winning 4-1 with set scores of: 24-26,25-17, 25-18, and 25-23.

The Nighthawks lacked momentum stepping on the SPU court to begin set one but quickly were able to regroup. Tying the match at 11-11 on a kill by Abby Black gave the Nighthawks the edge they needed to fight for the set victory. Going into extra points the NNU took the win 26-24.

The SPU team rallied and shifted the momentum in their favor for sets two and three. The Falcons were able to hold on to the lead throughout the sets and finish with scores of 25-17 and 25-18.

Looking to respond in the final  set, the Nighthawks came out strong, taking an 8-3. The Falcons fought back to stay within reach and eventually took their first lead at 14-13. The teams traded the lead throughout the set before the Falcons put it away with a score of 25-23.

Abby Black led the Nighthawks with 15 kills followed by Maddy Hellem who had 11. Black recorded 17 digs alongside Kayci Spray who had 15.
