SPOKANE, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene track & field took on their first meet in 2025 on Friday and Saturday, heading up to the Spokane Indoor Challenge at The Podium.

The Nighthawks produced some great efforts, highlighted by junior Morgan Erler's win in the 3000m with a new NNU indoor record time of 9:57.81.

Erler wasn't the only one to shine in the 3000m, as Mckenna Lechner's time of 10:43.20 is eighth in NNU history and Keelin Stewart's mark of 10:45.48 is right behind her in ninth on the program's top ten list.

The NNU women also saw top ten marks registered in the sprints, with Kayla Baniaga notching two of them. The senior ran 7.76 in the 60m, a time that is third in program history, and followed that up with a 25.71 in the 200m, which is sixth in school history.

Alejandra Gomez also PR'd in the 60m, with her time of 7.95 seconds slotting in sixth in NNU's top ten list.

The distance events impressed on the men's side, as Grady Mylander recorded a time of 8:29.67 in the 3000m that is second all-time at NNU. Carter Stedman was not far behind, with his time of 8:33.39 now fifth in program history.

Brody Kemble hit a pair of top ten marks as well, registering a time of 14:39.42 in the 5000m, which is third in program history, and 4:16.17 in the mile, which is fourth at NNU.

The men's DMR of Grady Mylander, Emmett Stouffer, Quincy Ellis, and Carter Stedman also won their event on Friday with a time of 10:22.43 that slots in ninth in program history.

The Nighthawks now take a week off from competition before heading back to The Podium in two weeks, taking on Whitworth's Inland Northwest Invitational on Feb. 1 in Spokane.
