| By:
NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene men's basketball head coach Jon Hawkins has announced the new additions to the program ahead of the 2024-25 season.

A year after registering their highest GNAC finish in program history (second), the Nighthawks will look to mesh these newcomers with multiple talented returners, including Second Team All-GNAC guard Ryzin Bergersen.

Hawkins and his staff add six newcomers, with five transfers and one true freshman. See below for information on each signee.

While at Grayson, he was a Top 20 Scorer in the Country for the NJCAA, Second Team All-Conference in the NTJCAC, and a Top 5 scorer in all of Texas in the NJCAA. He has excelled in the classroom as well, making the Honour Roll all throughout high school and the Dean's List at both Grayson and North Carolina Central.

From Kye: "I chose NNU because the coaching staff showed a lot of love during the recruiting process, even after I experienced a down year last season. I'm excited to get to work and help this team win games."

In one season at Carroll, he averaged 6.5 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 60.2% from the field and ranking in the top 10 in NAIA with 46 blocks. He was named to the Frontier Conference All-Defensive Team, with the Saints finishing second in the conference and earning an NAIA National Tournament Berth.

From Zane: "I chose NNU because I want to finish my degree, there's a great basketball environment, I thought the campus was really nice, and Nampa is a great area as well! I'm most excited to start working out with the team when I get to campus."

Brycen Mackenzie
Fr. | Guard | 6'2" | Seattle, Washington | Santa Fe Christian (CA)

Mackenzie is the lone true freshman in the class, coming to Nampa after finishing his high school career at Santa Fe Christian in San Diego. While there, he was the All-League Player of the Year and a First Team All-San Diego selection while helping his team to a California D1 State Championship. He scored over 2,500 points in his high school career, including a career-high of 43 in a game.

From Brycen: "I chose NNU because of its faith-based culture and the opportunity to play basketball at the collegiate level. I'm most excited to get to know everyone and for the start of the season."
