GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Northwest Nazarene men's golf placed 14
th of 19 teams at the Hot Dirt Shootout this weekend.
Grayson Giboney led the Nighthawks with a first round of +5 and a second round of -2. Giboney began round two with bogeys and holes one and three but went on to make four birdies to get to -2.
Cole Evarts had the best score for the Nighthawks after round one, shooting a +2. Evarts shot a +11 in round two to finish tied for 88
th with a score of 157.
Tyler Williams and
Lucas Rynearson had rounds of 153 and 154, respectively.
Benjamin Mulder shot a 156 on the weekend. Mulder tied for first place on par 5s, shooting -6. Mulder also had the teams only eagle of the weekend.
As a team, NNU shot rounds of 306 and 300 for a total of 606. The Nighthawks tied for first in eagles with one, tied for third on par 5s, and tied for seventh in birdies with 25.
The men's next competition is on Monday and Tuesday in Goodyear, Arizona at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.
