Nighthawks Lose in Three to The Wildcats

NAMPA, Idaho – Northwest Nazarene volleyball played hard against Central Washington, but couldn't overpower the Wildcats in a three-set defeat.

NNU moves to 5-8 on the season and 2-3 in GNAC play after their only game this weekend.

The Wildcats took the first two sets by scores of 25-12 and 25-18, with an offensively strong performance recording hitting percentages of .333 and .289, respectively.

The Nighthawks came out in the third set and brought a change in momentum to the court. However, the Wildcats were able to pull through in the end and take the set, 25-23. This gave CWU the overall win in a 3-0 sweep.

Abby Black led the Nighthawks with 8 kills and 9 digs. Maren Machado also recorded 9 digs and Morgan Wilding had 11 assists.

NNU will have a long trip ahead of them next week as they travel to Anchorage, Alaska to play the Seawolves on Thursday the 10th at 7:00 p.m. AKT.
