NNU Falls to Alaska Anchorage on The Road

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – NNU volleyball made the long trip to Alaska to compete against UAA on Thursday. In an exciting game, the Nighthawks fell to the Seawolves in four sets.

NNU moves to 5-9 on the season and 2-4 in GNAC play heading into the weekend.

The Nighthawks came out strong and won in the first set with a score of 25-20. Topping the Seawolves the Nighthawks recorded 20 kills to their 11 with hitting percentages of .370 and .186, respectively.

In the second, the Seawolves shifted the momentum and were able to overpower the Nighthawks with a score of, 25-20. Taking this energy, UAA won the next two sets to put away a 3-1 win.

Maren Machado led the Nighthawks with 14 kills, followed by Jenna Holm with 13. Gabby Moore assisted on 19 and Kayci Spray recorded 23 digs.

NNU will continue their appearance in Alaska as they compete against Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, October 12 at 2:00 p.m. ADT.
