ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene women's soccer defeated Central Washington 1-0 on Saturday afternoon for their second straight win.
The game started in a defensive battle as neither side was able to capitalize on any scoring opportunities. In the 83rd minute,
Kate Bleffert finally broke through and put the Nighthawks ahead with an incredible free kick from 35 yards out. The ball floated just above the keeper's hands and into the top left corner of the net to give NNU the 1-0 lead.
The Nighthawks led in shot attempts, taking 14 shots to CWU's nine.
NNU will look to keep their win streak going as their road trip continues against Western Washington on October 24th.
