BURNABY, B.C. – Northwest Nazarene men's soccer suffered a tough defeat to Simon Fraser on the road on Saturday, with a pair of second-half Red Leafs goals proving the difference in a 2-0 result.
 
With the loss, NNU falls to 2-1-0 in GNAC play and 3-5-1 overall.
 
The first half was very evenly played, with both teams having a few opportunities but neither able to find the back of the net.
 
The scoreless tie lasted until the 69
th minute when the Red Leafs were able to put through a well-struck ball from the top of the box to take a 1-0 advantage.
 
Simon Fraser was able to take advantage of a defensive miscue late to double their lead, scoring with just two minutes to play to bring about the 2-0 final.
 
The Nighthawks return home next week for a pair of matches, hosting Montana State Billings on Thursday before a rematch with these same Red Leafs on Saturday.
